Ron Babbit was born to L.H. and Agnes Babbit and grew up in Bethany, Oklahoma. His father was a gospel preacher whose impact on Ron was vital to his choice to become a minister. For college, Ron went to Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond. Later Ron attended Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock. Ron started off his young professional life as a coach and teacher in Missouri. He and his wife, Judy, participate in the ministry of being house parents at an orphanage. Throughout his ministry of 34 years he has been a youth minister, campus minister, preacher, and evangelist in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. In the mid 90s Ron was moved to St. Louis to help plant the North City Church of Christ, an inner city work. Ron says that he learned more about ministry in that place than any of his other works. During this time Jenks Church of Christ was supporting his work. On his visits to Tulsa, Ron would see potential for a similar work here. In August of 99 Ron and Judy moved to Tulsa to serve in the inner city. Soon after, Ron hooked up with Frank Lott from Park Plaza and together they started Contact. Judy has been Ron's partner and biggest supporter in all of his ministries. She has gone on visits with him, shared in the search of the Word, and taught Sunday school. Ron likes to give everyone a nickname favorite number is 47, favorite team is OU, likes basketball, and loves people.
